Every horse is hand made. The mass produced ones have gone through up to nine pairs of hands before coming up for sale. The main production of Dala horses is in the two factories, Grannas Olsson and Nils Olsson, in Nusnäs, Mora. But there are quite a number of horsemakers in several villages who carry on this old tradition.
Many of their horses can be found only at the Wooden Horse Museum Sweden.
